Toretsk is becoming one of largest Russian cemeteries - OTG Luhansk

Toretsk is turning into a Russian cemetery

Complex urban battles for the Tsentralna mine in Toretsk have turned this town into one of the hottest spots on the frontline.

This was reported by Major Anastasiia Bobovnikova, spokeswoman of the Luhansk OTG (operational tactical group), on the air of the Suspilne Novyny telethon, Censor.NET reports.

According to her, the fighting is currently over the Tsentralna mine, and the destruction of the urban environment complicates logistics, evacuation and rotation of the military.

"Because the route that was yesterday is not necessarily the same as the one that will be tomorrow. Because the house that serves as a landmark may no longer exist. Nevertheless, we are doing the impossible to evacuate the wounded, and medics are saving the lives of soldiers literally under fire," emphasized Bobovnikova.

According to the spokeswoman, Russian troops lose up to a mechanized battalion of personnel every week in Toretsk, and an entire brigade every month.

The basis of the Russian army reserves are contract soldiers who receive minimal military training. "They are taught how to hold a rifle, put on a bulletproof vest and helmet. That's pretty much it, but it's enough to create problems on the front line," Bobovnikova summarized.

As a reminder, over the past day, December 23, 2024, Russian troops conducted offensive actions in the area of Kindrashivka, Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka and Lozova in the Kupiansk direction in order to improve the tactical situation.
