Over 1200 kindergartens damaged by Russian shelling in Ukraine, 121 completely destroyed
As a result of the shelling by the Russian Federation of civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, 1222 kindergartens were damaged, 121 were completely destroyed.
According to Censor.NET, citing Ukrinform, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Andrii Vitrenko said this on television.
"As of today, 121 kindergartens are completely destroyed, 1222 are damaged, but we do not stop and together with local authorities we repair and overhaul them. Thus, 433 kindergartens have already been repaired and 94 kindergartens have been overhauled and restored," Vitrenko said.
According to him, the restoration of preschool education institutions is being carried out with the help of international partners.
"In particular, UNICEF is helping us to build a safe educational environment. In partnership, we have already restored 63 shelters in kindergartens, and more than 200 kindergartens have been provided with furniture," Vitrenko said.
As a reminder, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, as of the end of December 2024, Russia has damaged 1938 facilities in 715 Ukrainian medical institutions and completely destroyed 297 facilities in 114 medical institutions.
