Fico on suspension of gas transit through Ukraine: Serious consequences for everyone in EU, but not for RF

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico believes that the suspension of Russian gas transit through Ukraine will "have drastic consequences" for everyone in the EU.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to Dennik N.
"Suspension of transit will have drastic consequences for all of us in the European Union, but not for the Russian Federation," he said in his New Year's speech.
Earlier, Fico said that Slovakia would lose "hundreds of millions of euros" in transit fees if Russia stopped transiting gas through Ukraine. According to him, gas and electricity prices will rise in Europe because of Ukraine's move.
In his New Year's speech, Fico expressed his intention to continue a foreign policy focused on all four sides of the world.
"A policy based on respect for international law and non-interference in the internal affairs of others. Peace belongs to the top of the pyramid of our interests," he said.
As a reminder, at 7:00 a.m. on January 1, 2025, the transportation of Russian natural gas through Ukraine was stopped in the interests of national security.
Unrecognized Transnistria was left without gas, heat and hot water due to the suspension of gas supplies from Russia.
