Scholz on Trump’s statements on Greenland: Inviolability of borders applies to every country

Scholz condemns Trump’s statements about his encroachment on Greenland

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has warned against violent border changes in light of recent statements by US President-elect Donald Trump about claims to Greenland.

This is reported by Spiegel, Censor.NET reports.

Scholz spoke about this with a number of European heads of state and government and European Council President Antonio Costa.

The principle of inviolability of borders applies to every country - regardless of whether it is located to the east of us or to the west," the German Chancellor emphasized.

Scholz added that every state "must abide by this, regardless of whether it is a small country or a very powerful state."

What preceded it?

The day before, Donald Trump commented on the resignation of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and suggested that Canada should be incorporated into the United States.

On January 6, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation as leader of his Liberal Party.

Trump again hinted at the idea of making Canada the 51st state of the United States by releasing maps with Canada as part of the United States.

Trudeau criticized Trump's proposal to declare the country the 51st US state.

Earlier, Trump also said that Denmark should give Greenland to the United States "for the sake of the free world."

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen cannot imagine and does not believe that the United States will use military or economic force to control Greenland.
