Zelenskyy on results of "Ramstein" meeting: We agreed on additional aid packages worth $2 billion
At a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defence in the "Ramstein" format on 9 January, agreements were reached on additional military aid packages worth $2 billion.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainska Pravda.
"I would like to thank all partners, all defence ministers - 50 countries plus. We had a very good meeting today and a very good result. Additional packages worth $2 billion to support Ukraine, plus, very importantly, eight coalitions of capabilities. This is already on paper. 34 countries already support these strategic coalitions," Zelenskyy said.
According to him, the issue of whether the "Ramstein" format will be extended was not raised during the meeting.
"Because everyone understands that the next meeting is in February, everyone has already agreed on this. This platform, which brings together so many countries, is important to us. It is important that it continues its work," the President stressed.
Among the important outcomes of "Ramstein", Zelenskyy named guaranteed deliveries of additional air defence systems.
"We have confirmation and support. Not all 19 systems, to be honest, but there is a fairly serious number of systems guaranteed by our partners. We will work to ensure that the systems arrive as soon as possible," the head of state stressed.
As a reminder, at the "Ramstein" meeting, the United States announced a $500 million package of military assistance to Ukraine.
In addition, in 2025, Norway will provide the largest military aid in its history - more than €2 billion for Ukraine.
