War in Ukraine remains a priority issue for PACE, - Assembly President Rousopoulos

Russia's war against Ukraine will remain a priority issue for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
This was stated by the President of the Assembly Theodoros Rousopoulos at the opening of the PACE winter session, Ukrinform reports, Censor.NET informs.
"As for the issues that are a priority for our Assembly, I will start with the ongoing Russian aggressive war against Ukraine. I am working tirelessly with all of you to ensure that this war does not become the norm and that our Assembly remains focused and determined," the politician said.
Rousopoulos noted that the agenda of each PACE session included debates on various aspects of the war, which ended with the adoption of significant resolutions.
He also added that his primary commitment remains to support Ukraine and cooperate with international actors to restore peace and justice.
As a reminder, on Monday, January 27, the PACE winter session begins in Strasbourg, during which 4 committees will hold joint hearings on Ukrainian prisoners of war, journalists and other civilians held captive by Russia.
