A Ukrainian fighter pilot, Captain Ivan Bolotov, was killed during a combat mission.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press centre of the 831st Tactical Aviation Brigade.
"KILLED IN ACTION... Only the best soldiers in the world can defend Ukraine so bravely and fight so desperately in the sky for almost three years of full-scale war.
We are saddened to report an irreparable loss... Our comrade, a great patriot of his country, Air Force fighter pilot Captain Ivan Bolotov, did not return from a combat mission. He was only 24, but he was a competent and experienced warrior who mercilessly beat the occupier on all its approaches and frontline directions. Pilots do not die, they remain in the sky forever... We express our condolences to Ivan's family, he died in battle like a hero!" the statement reads.
No further information on the circumstances of the Hero's death has been released.
