Orban avoided answering whether he personally considers Russia aggressor: Let’s leave assessment to historians

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that it is the official position of the European Union to consider Russia an aggressor state. However, he avoided answering the question of whether he personally shares this opinion because "history will judge."
He said this in an interview with the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Censor.NET reports.
"This is the official position of the European Union. I am loyal to it," Orban said.
When asked by the journalist whether he personally held a different position, he suggested "leaving the assessment to historians."
"I am a politician, and we have an EU decision. It obliges me to speak about "Russian aggression," Orban added.
He added that US President Donald Trump is needed to establish peace in Ukraine.
"When you face a Gordian knot, you have to cut it. You need a strong man with a sword. It's no longer about what ideas we have. Trump needs to sit down with Russia and Ukraine and say to them, 'Guys, let's make a truce. This is the only way," he said.
Orban also said that it would not be difficult for Hungary to maintain good relations with Beijing and Washington.
"It is more difficult with Russia. We would like to keep all business relations open. However, the EU opposes this. The US position is still unclear. We will have to wait a little longer," he summarized.
