Air defence system manages to shoot down Russian GAB over Zaporizhzhia, not for first time - Air Force

Air defence managed to shoot down GAB over Zaporizhzhia. What is known

Earlier, the network said that on 6 February, experimental weapons were used against the Russian GAB in Zaporizhzhia.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by RBC-Ukraine.

The head of the Communications Department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yurii Ihnat, noted that this was not the first time such an air strike weapon had been shot down.

He noted that guided aerial bombs were of different types, with different warheads. "The Russians use them from tactical aircraft without entering our air defence zone - that is, they launch these bombs from a distance.

However, the Air Force uses different methods to counter tactical aircraft using GABs.

"To counter this threat, an integrated approach is needed - both the use of ground-based air defence and aviation components to drive the carriers of these GABs as far as possible," he said.

The Ukrainian Air Force did not specify how the bomb was hit.
