Ministry of Defense on "Contract 18-24": There is certain rush of volunteer fighters

Ukrainian citizens who will join the Defense Forces under the Contract 18-24 program will perform combat missions on the front line for about six months.
This was stated by the spokesman for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Lazutkin, Censor.NET reports citing RBC-Ukraine.
He reminded that those citizens who sign such a contract will immediately receive UAH 200,000.
The next payment will be made after completing basic military training - 300 thousand hryvnias.
The third installment is 500 thousand hryvnias when the contract expires, on the day of exclusion from the military unit's personnel lists.
"This is in addition to the salary and additional financial support when it comes to performing combat missions. It is expected that these people will be performing combat missions on the frontline for about 6 months," said the Defense Ministry spokesman.
Lazutkin noted that the defense ministry is counting on replenishment and strengthening of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
"And now, after the first day, which is still ongoing, which is not really over, we already see that there is interest. There is a certain excitement," he added.
As a reminder, on February 11, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially launched the Contract 18-24 voluntary service format for Ukrainians who are ready to join the Defense Forces for one year.
The ministry emphasized that joining the Defense Forces under this project is not mobilization, but a voluntary choice.
