There can be no discussions on Ukraine’s membership in EU and NATO - Stubb

Stubb on the importance of Ukraine’s membership in the EU and NATO

President of Finland Alexander Stubb said that there should be several red lines in the negotiations on peace in Ukraine.

According to Censor.NET, citing Ukrinform, the Finnish president said this at a security conference in Munich.

"There are two things that are not subject to discussion. One of them is Ukraine's membership in the EU, and it is also Ukraine's membership in NATO at some point. These are the only solutions for Ukrainians," he emphasized.

According to Stubb, Ukraine should become "European, not Russian," which should be a great loss for Putin.

"We should in no way open the door to this Russian fantasy of a security order where spheres of influence can be divided," Stubb emphasized.

In his opinion, in this war, Ukraine is resolving three fundamental issues: independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"In World War II, Finland retained its independence. However, we lost our sovereignty to decide what organizations we wanted to be in, and then we lost 10 percent of our territory, including the areas where my grandparents were born. Let's just make sure that at the end of this process, Ukraine does not find itself in this predicament. This is what we are working for," he urged.
