Air defense shoots down Shahed

On the night of February 19, 2025, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 167 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of imitation drones and also launched two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles at the Sumy region from the Voronezh region.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press center of the Air Force Command.

As noted, the air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

What did our air defense manage to shoot down?

According to the Air Force, as of 09.00 a.m., 106 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones were confirmed to have been shot down in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions.

56 enemy imitator drones were lost locally (without negative consequences).

Consequences of the attack

The enemy attack affected the Odesa, Kyiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Earlier, Censor.NET reported that the Russians had launched a massive attack on Odesa: there is no electricity, water, or heat supply in part of the city, and hospitals, clinics, and social infrastructure facilities are without heat. In the morning, it became known that 14 schools, 13 kindergartens, and more than 500 houses were without heating.
