Sikorski is heading to US to discuss Ukraine – media

Sikorski heads to the US

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has left for the United States, where he plans to meet with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

This was reported by Polsat News and Ukrinform, Censor.NET reports.

Polish media note that on Thursday, February 20, Sikorski was supposed to fly to the United States.

According to Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Pawel Wronski, Sikorski will meet with representatives of American think tanks in the United States and will also attend a meeting of the Security Council and the UN General Assembly in New York.

He is also scheduled to meet in Washington with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, although the time of the meeting is still being agreed upon.

"The speech at the UN will take place on the next anniversary of Russian aggression against Ukraine. This will be a speech not only on behalf of Poland, but the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy has authorized Mr. Minister to speak on behalf of the entire European Union. Therefore, Ukraine's case will be the most important," said Wronski.

The spokesman added that if Sikorski talks to Rubio, Ukraine "will be in the center of attention."

As reported earlier, the office of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed that he will meet with US President Donald Trump next week during his visit to Washington.
