Sybiha on meeting between US and Ukraine in Jeddah: We see this meeting as great opportunity to promote peace
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Ukraine sees the meeting in Saudi Arabia as a chance to promote peace and strengthen its strategic partnership with the United States.
He made the statement on the social network X, Censor.NET reports.
Sibiga said that he participated in the meeting in Jeddah together with the head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak, Defense Minister Rustem Umierov, and Deputy Foreign Minister Pavlo Palisa.
"I am pleased to be in Jeddah with Andrii Yermak, Rustem Umierov and Pavlo Palisa. We see this meeting as a great opportunity to promote peace and develop the Ukrainian-American strategic partnership. The constructive atmosphere proves that we can seize this opportunity. Ukraine wants peace more than anyone else," Sybiha said.
Ukraine-US talks in Saudi Arabia
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the teams of Ukraine and the United States had resumed work and a "meaningful meeting" could take place next week.
According to Fox News, the delegations of Ukraine and the United States will meet in the Saudi capital Riyadh on March 11.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine believes that the meeting of representatives of the United States and Ukraine in Riyadh is an opportunity to sign an agreement on minerals.
On March 11, 2025, a meeting of the US and Ukrainian delegations began in Jeddah.
