Zelenskyy: Ceasefire should not go along with Russian "but"

Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Russia is not serious about the possibility of introducing a 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a briefing today, Censor.NET reports.

"They want a stronger position... Now I'm sure that it's at least not serious. After the proposal and after the fact that they did not count on an allied solution being found in Jeddah, they now realize that they have to respond and now they will talk about control or something else. If we talked only about silence at sea, they would say: "Why only at sea, we need it everywhere, if we talked about the sea and the sky, they would say that we strive for security for the energy system," Zelenskyy said.

Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine is ready to accept the US proposal.

"If the Russians do not agree, then they do not agree with our proposal, they do not agree with a specific proposal of President Trump. This is their clear position... It is Putin who does not agree to what Trump has offered to Ukraine and Russia," he added.

"It is important not to go to the Russian but, the ceasefire should not go along with the but," the head of state summarized.

On March 11, the delegations of the United States and Ukraine met in Jeddah.

The Ukrainian and US teams issued a joint statement following the meeting in Saudi Arabia: The US is resuming military assistance and will discuss the possibility of a 30-day ceasefire with Russia.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin says that Russia has agreed to the proposals to end hostilities in Ukraine, but under certain conditions.

Trump called Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin's statement about the possibility of a 30-day truce encouraging.
