Trump confirms conversation with Putin on the morning of March 18

US President Donald Trump said that he would have a conversation with Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin on the morning of March 18.

He said this during a briefing on Monday, Censor.NET reports citing Suspilne.

"Tomorrow I'm talking to Russian President Putin to save some soldiers who are in deep trouble (probably referring to the Kursk region of the Russian Federation - ed.) They are captured. In fact, they are surrounded by Russian soldiers," the American president said.

In addition, Trump expressed his belief that a ceasefire agreement would be concluded after this conversation.

According to the Republican, after that, the United States is seeking to achieve a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

"What's happening in Ukraine is not good, but we'll see if we can get a peace agreement, a ceasefire and peace, and I think we can do that. I'm talking to President Putin tomorrow morning," Trump added.

As a reminder, the Kremlin confirmed that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin will have a conversation on March 18.

Earlier, Reuters reported that Trump plans to speak with Putin on March 18.

US special envoy Steve Witkoff also said that the conversation between the American and Russian leaders could take place this week.

The Kremlin is preparing some talking points for a conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, including the settlement of the war against Ukraine.

Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump said that a "large group" of Ukrainian troops was allegedly surrounded by Russian troops.
