Zelenskyy believes quick ceasefire and end to war is possible

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy considers the possibility of a quick ceasefire and an equally quick end to the war ‘if there is political will, which is announced to the whole world’.
According to Censor.NET, he said this during an online briefing on Wednesday, 19 March.
"As for a quick ceasefire, I think yes, it can be done quickly [...] If there is a ceasefire for a month, two months, this is a window of opportunity when you can make a plan and try to put pressure on anyone who disrupts it, but you can end the war. Maybe this or that stage of the war, as we call it, the ‘hot stage’ - not everything has been agreed upon yet - but it is possible to end the war," the President said.
At the same time, the President believes that a ceasefire for years is not the end of the war, but the freezing of the conflict.
Zelenskyy stressed that Putin does not want a ceasefire because of several factors. Because he is not in a weak position on the battlefield, he does not want a ceasefire while Ukrainian troops control part of the Kursk region, he is amassing troops to strike at Ukraine and put more pressure and give himself better negotiating conditions.
As a reminder, during a telephone conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump, they discussed issues related to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
