Colonel Lapin remanded in custody until 17 May

The former commander of the 415th separate rifle battalion, Colonel Illia Lapin, was left in custody until 17 May 2025.

The video from the courtroom of the Pechersk District Court was posted by his daughter Oleksandra Paduchak, Censor.NET reports.

"The court ruled to satisfy the investigator's motion. To extend the term of detention until 17.05.2025 without determining the amount of bail," the judge said.

Earlier it was reported that ex-Armed Forces colonel Lapin, who is suspected of breaking through the defences in Kharkiv region, became ill during the court session.

The case of inadequate defence of Kharkiv region in May 2024

As a reminder, on 20 January, the SBI detained two generals and a colonel suspected of negligence that led to the loss of part of the Kharkiv region in May 2024.

The 125th TDF Brigade, whose commander Horbenko was in 2024, expressed support for him and expressed a desire to tell the truth in court about the events in Kharkiv region at the time.

On 21 January, Yurii Halushkin, the former commander of the OTG "Kharkiv", accused in the same case, was arrested for 60 days with bail set at UAH 5 million.

On 22 January, Brigadier General Yurii Halushkin was released on bail in the amount of UAH 5 million.

Also on 21 January, Kyiv's Pecherskyi District Court arrested Colonel Illia Lapin, former commander of the 415th separate rifle battalion of the 23rd separate mechanised brigade, for 60 days.
