Conclusion of EU Summit: Russia must demonstrate real desire to end its war against Ukraine

The European Council called on Russia to demonstrate a real desire to end the war against Ukraine.
This is stated in the conclusions of the EU summit held on March 20 in Brussels, Censor.NET reports with reference to the EP.
The document was supported by 26 member states, while Hungary refused to sign it. For this reason, the section on Ukraine is published separately.
The conclusions welcome the joint statement by Ukraine and the United States following the talks in Saudi Arabia on a ceasefire, intelligence sharing, and security assistance.
The European Council emphasized that the peace process should include humanitarian aid, the exchange of prisoners of war, the release of civilians, and the return of abducted Ukrainian children.
The EU leaders also expressed their readiness to increase pressure on Russia through additional sanctions and enforcement of the already adopted restrictions. They emphasized that the frozen Russian assets will remain so until Russia ends the war and compensates for the damage caused.
In addition, the EU reaffirmed its intention to provide Ukraine with regular financial and military support, as well as to facilitate the establishment of a special tribunal to consider the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
