Construction of defense lines in Ukraine

On March 28, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated UAH 83.3 million to complete the construction of fortifications in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Construction of fortifications

In early December, Servant of the People People's Deputy Mariana Bezuhla said that two years after the liberation of Kharkiv region from the enemy, no fortifications have been built on the Oskil River and on the border with Russia.

The Financial Times reported that the defense lines on the border of the Dnipropetrovsk region are still unfinished, and there are gaps between Velyka Novosilka, Kurakhove and Pokrovsk that could become a critical vulnerability in the event of a Russian offensive.

Yurii Butusov, editor-in-chief of Censor.NET, said that the Russian occupiers seized a key fortified area near Pokrovsk without a fight due to the actions of the Ukrainian command.

To recap, the construction of fortifications in Mykolaiv region has been completed in full, and in Zaporizhzhia region the work is at the final stage. As of December 5, 2024, the Prime Minister reported that the construction of fortifications in the Kharkiv region was 99.9% complete.
