Best way to stop war is to increase pressure on Russia - Stubb

Stubb called for increased pressure on Russia

President of Finland Alexander Stubb believes that Russia will continue its delaying tactics without putting maximum pressure on it.

He said this on the social network X, Censor.NET reports.

"The best way to stop Russia's war of aggression is to maximize pressure on Moscow. I welcome the bipartisan package of sanctions proposed by Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal in the U.S. Senate. It is ambitious. This package, combined with a clear deadline for an unconditional ceasefire, is a step towards a just and lasting peace," the Finnish leader said.

Stubb emphasized that without maximum pressure, Russia will continue its delaying tactics, and the war will continue for the foreseeable future.

Earlier, it was reported that U.S. senators are calling for tough sanctions against Russia if it refuses to take further steps toward peace in Ukraine. The sanctions may include a 500% duty on goods from countries that buy Russian oil and gas.
