Trump admits no ceasefire in Ukraine by Easter - Telegraph

US President Donald Trump has promised to end Russia's war against Ukraine "in 24 hours," but White House officials admit that he will not ensure a ceasefire in Ukraine before Easter (April 20).
According to Censor.NET, The Telegraph writes about this, citing sources.
It is noted that the Trump administration is "increasingly frustrated" with the Kremlin's stalling tactics and is preparing to put pressure on Moscow and Kyiv to force them to agree on a settlement.
The newspaper writes that U.S. officials have been complaining privately for weeks about the way "Kyiv is negotiating" and about "resistance" to the mining deal with Washington and the progress of peace talks. However, in recent days, according to the sources, officials have become increasingly frustrated with Moscow.
"There is deep frustration with the Russian government regarding the negotiations," James Hewitt, a spokesman for the US National Security Council, said on Monday. He added that Trump had "made it clear" that he would impose secondary sanctions on oil if Russia "is not serious about a peaceful resolution of this conflict."
"Failure to end the war would be a significant blow to Trump, a self-described "peacemaker and unifier" who repeatedly promised to end the conflict within 24 hours during his presidential campaign," the article says.
During phone calls and meetings over the weekend, representatives of the White House and the State Department discussed how to get Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to agree to a long-term deal, the newspaper's interlocutors said.
They recognized that Putin is actively opposing this and considered possible economic and diplomatic measures of pressure.
Earlier, Reuters reported that senior officials in the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump have begun discussing the possibility that a peace deal in Ukraine will not be reached in the coming months.
