Delegation from Ukraine to arrive in US late this week or early next week to discuss minerals deal - Bessent

A Ukrainian delegation will arrive in the United States this week or early next week to discuss a proposed economic cooperation agreement.
According to Censor.NET, this was stated by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in an interview with Bloomberg.
According to him, the Ukrainian side has "hired a lawyer," and the United States is "ready to sign the deal."
"We believe this agreement is very important for the American people, for the Ukrainian people and for the peace process," Bessent emphasized.
As previously reported, the current version of the minerals agreement is unfavorable for Ukraine, so Kyiv will ask the United States to amend it.
Earlier, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of the Voice party and deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada's Tax Committee, said that the United States had handed over a new draft of the minerals agreement to Ukraine, which must be ratified by the Verkhovna Rada.
In his opinion, this option is unfavorable for Ukraine.
According to media reports, Donald Trump's administration has returned to the minerals agreement the requirement to reimburse all the assistance that the United States has provided to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022.
