Rutte: Ukraine was never promised that NATO membership would be part of peace agreement

While Ukraine's path to NATO is irreversible, Ukraine has never been promised that membership would be part of a peace agreement.
According to Censor.NET, citing Interfax-Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated this at a press conference in Brussels, responding to journalists’ questions about whether the Alliance still supports Ukraine’s NATO membership.
"We decided in Washington that Ukraine’s path to NATO is irreversible. We are building a bridge through everything we are doing with Ukraine to make it as interoperable with NATO as possible. But Ukraine has never been promised that NATO membership would be part of a peace agreement. I mean, that is also true," he said.
