National Police reveals details of FSB agent case who killed Ukrainian serviceman and blew up district administration: he was planning additional attacks

In Kharkiv, a pre-trial investigation has been completed against a Russian agent who killed a Ukrainian soldier, bombed the Shevchenkivskyi district administration and cars, and planned an assassination attempt on the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, and the head of the Derhachi Military Administration, Viacheslav Zadorenko.
According to Censor.NET, the details of the case were provided by Serhii Bolvinov, head of the Investigation Department of the Kharkiv Regional Police.
"The suspect's name is Oleksandr. He has combat experience. He fought in Afghanistan. He is proud that he fought in the 'White Wolves' group, which was part of the Serbian army in the conflict between Serbia and Croatia. After the war, he lived in Crimea. He was a member of a criminal group. After the murder of the leader of this group, he moved to Belgorod with his family," the post reads.
According to Bolvinov, the investigation of the case began on 5 March 2024. When the soldier died in Saltivka due to a gunshot wound to the back. Law enforcement officers reconstructed the route of the deceased and found witnesses who pointed to the suspect.
With the help of cameras, law enforcement officers roughly established where the suspect might have lived. Investigators found his apartment, but no one was there. However, they found the gun used to shoot the soldier.
Then, Bolvinov says, the building of the Shevchenko administration and military vehicles in different parts of the city were bombed. Investigators found that one person was involved.
"The operatives compare the recordings from their dashcams and find a person matching the description, a possible arsonist. Moreover, one of the police officers recognises him. A few years ago, this man had already been caught for petty theft, and his name was Bezsmertnykh. Then the investigators set up round-the-clock surveillance of the suspect and saw that he regularly entered the territory of one of the garden associations on the outskirts of the city, on Klochkivska Street," Bolvinov continued.
He wanted to kill Syniehubov and Zadorenko
Law enforcement officers got on the trail of the suspect. They found that he was constantly changing his clothes and probably lived in an abandoned house in Mala Danylivka.
"We ran the prints and immediately saw that it was Oleksandr Golub / Bezsmertnykh, he was indeed involved in petty thefts, and even served time for two of the episodes. A large-scale special operation was launched around the garden community, the whole area was cordoned off, and a real hunt was organised. But the offender never appeared again," Bolvinov said.
Investigators also found out that he had a house in Kozacha Lopan. And then the police decided to simply take the train that still runs there. That's how the suspect was caught.
"The detention took place around 15:00. And literally an hour and a half after that, we received information that someone had planted explosives under the car of the head of the Derhachi CMA. He himself noticed something suspicious under the car when he parked on a hill and immediately called the police. On the video from the cameras near the car, we can see the familiar ‘moustache’, this time dressed as a utility worker, wearing a special vest," Bolvinov said.
The investigators found out who was to be the next victim from the suspect.
"At first, we were a little surprised and shocked when he told us that at the time we detained him, he was expecting Zadorenko to explode and after the explosion he was preparing to attack Syniehubov. The murder of Syniehubov was supposed to be public. He explained that the murder had to take place in this way. He was given three grenades to kill Mr Sinegubov. It was agreed with the Russian special services that they would tell him in advance the place where the Russian GAB or missile would hit. It should be a residential building with the maximum number of civilian casualties. The leadership of the region and the city should come to this place. He must know this place in advance and prepare for the attack. The attack, according to his plan, should be on the head of the administration himself, using grenades that were handed over to him," law enforcement officials said.
Bolvinov said that this was the first case of preparations for the assassination of the head of KRMA.
On the morning of 8 April, it became known that law enforcement officers in Kharkiv region had completed a pre-trial investigation into a native of Yevpatoria, who after 2015 lived in Belgorod, Russia, and was recruited by the Russian FSB to perform tasks in Ukraine.
