Currently, there is no talk of Russian offensive on Sumy and Kharkiv - CCD

The Russian occupation forces have intensified their activities in the direction of Sumy and Kharkiv regions. It is too early to talk about an offensive on Sumy and Kharkiv.
This was stated by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), Andrii Kovalenko, Censor.NET reports.
"We should not confuse the words about Sumy and Kharkiv regions with Sumy and Kharkiv. The Russians have indeed become more active in the direction of Sumy and Kharkiv regions for quite some time.
But we can't talk about an offensive on Sumy and Kharkiv at the moment. These are completely different things. We shouldn't misinterpret the words of the military, we should interpret them correctly," he said.
Russian offensive in Sumy and Kharkiv regions
At the end of March 2025, President Zelenskyy said that Russia was preparing a new spring offensive in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that Russia's offensive against Kharkiv and Sumy regions had actually already begun.
Earlier, the State Border Guard Service reported that the enemy had changed its tactics: Russian subversive reconnaissance groups are trying to enter Ukrainian territory in the south of Sumy region, closer to Kharkiv region.
On April 6, the Siversk OTGT stated that the Russian army was moving certain groups closer to the northern border with Ukraine. However, there are no signs of a powerful group being formed.
