Zelenskyy on meetings on minerals between Ukraine and US: They ended positively

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the positive results of the first meetings of the technical teams of Ukraine and the United States on a future agreement on cooperation in the field of minerals.
The President said this during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Odesa, Censor.NET reports.
"It was a meeting of the technical team, and meetings at this level in various formats - both offline and online - will continue throughout this week. After all these consultations, when the teams are ready, they will show what they have developed," Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State emphasized that both sides are currently satisfied with the interim results: "So far, both sides have completed the meetings positively."
Earlier it was reported that negotiations between Ukraine and the United States on access to minerals were held in a tense atmosphere and no breakthrough was achieved.
To recap, in late March, US President Donald Trump said that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wanted to abandon the rare earth metals agreement.
On March 23, Kyiv received a new draft agreement from the US side on control over Ukraine's critical mineral resources and energy assets. However, the United States does not offer Ukraine any security guarantees and is "aggressively expanding its previous demands."
Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed that Ukraine had received a new text of the agreement. According to her, the Ukrainian side is studying it and will try to reach a consensus with its American partners.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Security Service of Ukraine to investigate the leak of information about the latest US proposal for a minerals deal.
