On 17 April 2025, the Defence Forces fought 143 combat engagements with the Russian occupiers.
According to Censor.NET, this is stated in the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russia's strikes on Ukraine
According to the updated information, yesterday the enemy launched two missile and 94 air strikes against the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, used four missiles and dropped 151 GABs, and engaged 3,029 kamikaze drones. The enemy also carried out 6,507 artillery attacks, including 143 from multiple launch rocket systems.
The enemy carried out air strikes, in particular in the areas of Turia, Krasnopillia, Myropilske, Osoivka and Uhroidy in Sumy region; Kupyansk in Kharkiv region; Kostiantynivka, Rusyn Yar, Popiv Yar, Malynivka, Oleksandrohrad, Voskresenka, Novopil in Donetsk region; Huliaipole, Stepove, Lukianivske, Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region; and Kherson.
Defeat of the enemy
Over the past day, the aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Defence Forces hit ten areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, a command post, an air defence facility, two missile troops and artillery facilities and a UAV control post of the Russian invaders.
Kharkiv region
In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy made one vain attempt to advance in the vicinity of Vovchansk.
Four occupiers' attacks took place in the Kupyansk sector yesterday. Ukrainian defence forces repelled the enemy's assaults near Petropavlivka, Synkivka and Zahryzove.
Hostilities in the east
In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked 20 times. He tried to advance near the settlements of Novovodiane, Nadiia, Nove, Novomykhailivka, Yampolivka and towards Hrekivka and Hryhorivka.
In the Siverskyi sector, our troops repelled two enemy attacks near Bilohorivka and in the direction of Verkhniokamianske.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy launched eight attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Kurdiumivka and towards Stupochky.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian troops 11 times near Toretsk, Ozarianivka and Druzhba yesterday.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 64 aggressor's assault attacks in the areas of Sukha Balka, Stara Mykolaivka, Zelene Pole, Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Novotoretske, Promin, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka and Andriivka.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine invaders' attacks in the areas of Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv and Pryvilne.
South
In the Orikhivskyi sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled an attack near Mala Tokmachka. The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions in the Huliaipillia and Prydniprovskyi sectors.
Situation in the Kursk region
In the Kursk region, 21 combat engagements took place yesterday, and the enemy conducted 18 air strikes, using 25 GABs, and fired 368 times, eight of which were from MLRS.
North
No signs of enemy offensive groups forming in the Volyn and Polissia sectors were observed.
