Peskov on Trump’s ceasefire statements this week: Difficult contacts are underway
The Russian dictator's spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on Trump's statements that he was expecting a response from Russia regarding the ceasefire in Ukraine this week.
He said this in a comment to Russian propagandists, Censor.NET reports.
"The contacts are quite difficult, because the topic is not easy, the topic of the Ukrainian settlement. Russia seeks to resolve this conflict, to secure its own interests and is open to dialogue. We are continuing this topic," Putin's spokesman said.
Earlier, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that if US efforts to stop the war in Ukraine failed within a few days, Trump would be told that negotiations were no longer a viable option.
Trump said he was expecting a response from Russia on the ceasefire in Ukraine this week.
