Trump announced deployment of "Golden Dome" missile defence system jointly with Canada

The United States and Canada are currently "working closely" to create a new missile defence system called "Golden Dome". It is to be deployed in both countries.
This was announced by US President Donald Trump, according to Censor.NET, citing RBC-Ukraine.
The American president clarified that the new missile defence system is being developed for deployment in both countries.
"We want it to be a defence, given what is happening in the world," Trump said.
The "Golden Dome" is an ambitious American defence programme that involves the creation of a space-based system for the early detection and destruction of enemy missiles before they have travelled a significant portion of their trajectory.
This involves launching hundreds of sensor satellites into orbit for observation, as well as combat satellites equipped with lasers or missile weapons to intercept targets.
Earlier, the US president said that resolving Russia's war against Ukraine could be more difficult than achieving peace in the Middle East.
Trump also noted that the US is conducting "very serious negotiations" to end the war in Gaza and establish peace in the the Middle East.
