Sweden may pay for Gripen fighter jets for Ukraine using Russian assets, - Prime Minister Kristersson

Gripen fighter jets: how can Ukraine pay for them?

Ukraine may purchase Gripen fighter jets from Sweden, paying for them with frozen Russian assets.

According to Censor.NET, citing The Guardian, this was announced by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

This is provided for in the agreement signed on 22 October.

It concerns Russian assets held in Western countries, as well as funds from allied countries in the "Coalition of the Willing".

"We fully realise it’s a long road ahead of us … But from today we are committed to exploring all the possibilities in providing Ukraine with a large amount of Gripen fighters in the future," he said.
