Captured North Korean soldiers ask to be handed over to South Korea, - media

The captured North Korean soldiers, who were taken prisoner by Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region, are in a psychologically unstable state and have attempted to harm themselves. One of them drew a portrait of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in his cell.
According to Censor.NET with a link to hromadske, this is mentioned in a documentary film by the human rights organization Gyeore-eol Nation United, which is referenced by Barron’s and Yonhap.
The full version of the tape has not yet been released, but activist Chang Se-yul has revealed some details. In it, both North Korean captives expressed their desire to go to South Korea — during an interview in February, only one of them had such an intention.

Photos taken during the filming show that the wound on the jaw of one of the North Korean soldiers has healed, although it has led to bone deformation. Hand-drawn portraits of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un were also spotted above the bed of one of the prisoners.

Both soldiers asked the film's producer for eye medicine, knitted items, pants, cigarettes, pens, and books.

According to estimates by South Korean and Western intelligence services, around 10,000 North Korean soldiers could be sent to Ukraine in 2024 to support Russian troops.
About 2,000 North Korean soldiers have been killed in Ukraine, where they are fighting on Russia's side.
