Police tried to bring me before Vlasenko–Buzhanskyi Temporary Investigation Commission – Zhernakov. VIDEO
Mykhailo Zhernakov, head of the DEJURE Foundation Board, said that the visit by law enforcement officers to his home was linked to a decision by the Vlasenko–Buzhanskyi temporary investigative commission (TIC) to have him brought to a commission meeting.
He said this in a comment to Censor.NET.
Zhernakov also posted a video with the police on Facebook.
"It [TIC] was created to undermine the independence of NABU and SAPO. The same commission decided to have me forcibly brought to a meeting of the commission and involved the National Police to do so," he said.
According to Zhernakov, the police acted appropriately and no one tried to force their way in.
The head of the DEJURE Foundation noted that the decision to bring him to the TIC meeting was illegal.
"The mandate they were given relates to investigating corruption in law enforcement and judicial bodies, which I do not belong to. Nor does the Public Integrity Council they are trying to smear and whose members they have summoned. We are not part of the judiciary, so this summons is unlawful on their part," Zhernakov explained.
He noted that he was not brought to the TIC meeting.
He added that TIC had sent out summonses, and in response they were told that attendance was not possible for a number of objective reasons.
