UAV pilot schools to train and certify UGV operators – Defense Ministry

Ukraine’s Defense Ministry has expanded the powers of UAV pilot training schools and allowed them to train and certify operators of ground robotic systems (UGVs) as well as training instructors.
The Defense Ministry said this, Censor.NET reports.
According to an order by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, the schools have been granted the right to develop training, retraining and advanced training programmes for UGV operators and instructors.
Who will be able to study?
Both servicemen and civilians will be able to undergo such training.
If a candidate is not yet in the military, a military unit can issue a training voucher, and after completing the course at a certified school, he or she will be able to mobilise specifically into this speciality.
What’s new?
The ministry notes that the change will allow training programmes for operators and instructors to be adapted quickly, taking into account technological changes and the emergence of new UGV models.
It is also reported that:
- the Armed Forces of Ukraine will check the quality of training;

the Defense Ministry will ensure that training programmes meet the requirements of the Defence Forces.
