Honorary Patriarch Filaret has died at the age of 98.
This was reported by the head of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy, according to Censor.NET.

"Today, my heart is filled with deep sorrow and grief, as are the hearts of many Ukrainians, for the earthly journey of His Holiness Patriarch Filaret has come to an end."
"I call upon the faithful throughout Ukraine to offer heartfelt prayers for the repose of the soul of the late Patriarch Filaret, who passed away today. Let us ask the Almighty to welcome him into His Heavenly Kingdom. My heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Patriarch," the statement reads.
Patriarch Filaret passed away at the age of 98.
"But our prayers and remembrance of him will remain with the local autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church for all time. May the memory of the newly departed Patriarch be bright and eternal, and may his soul rejoice in heaven at the fruits that his good work here on earth has borne and will continue to bear!"
