Kallas’ statement that there is no "good news" is hint to MPs that they should vote in favor of IMF’s package of bills, - "Servant of People" MP Vasylevska-Smahliuk

The European Union is waiting for Ukraine to adopt the necessary decisions regarding the IMF’s package of draft laws.
This is how Olha Vasylevska-Smahliuk, a member of parliament from the "Servant of the People" party and deputy chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, commented to Censor.NET on the statement by EU High Representative Kaja Kallas that she had no "good news" regarding the provision of 90 billion euros to Ukraine.

"I think they're waiting for us to finalize the tax arrangements with the IMF. There has already been some progress here: in theory, the Verkhovna Rada is ready to consider all those initiatives, except for VAT for sole proprietors. If next week we manage to push through the taxation of parcels and the military levy "forever" (that is, not just for the period of martial law), then the rest of the process will go more smoothly.
"Kallas’ statement is likely a certain incentive for MPs to vote for what is required in the Euro Package," the politician noted, adding that the situation surrounding the votes on the IMF’s draft laws demonstrates that the government needs to consider improving communication with parliament so that necessary decisions can be adopted more quickly.
According to her, the country’s budgetary situation is not rosy.
"Indeed, the problem is that we actually have enough funds to last until the end of April. If the National Bank of Ukraine transfers approximately 120 billion in dividends (and they usually do so at the very end of April), then our situation will more or less stabilize for a certain period. Especially since we have positive indicators, as the Tax Service has met its entire target. But, of course, that’s not enough—we need customs and other agencies to meet the targets set for them," noted Vasylevska-Smahliuk.
The MP pointed out that IMF funds alone do not really save Ukraine:
"But the next tranche, which we are set to receive in June, will prove that the IMF is ‘opening the door’ for us to other international partners. After all, if it doesn’t come through, the others won’t follow suit either. We will continue to try to communicate with the Europeans regarding these 90 billion. Because Europe is, in fact, interested in providing them—in particular, so that we continue to fight. Therefore, I think the money will eventually come. We just needed to make certain, almost ultimatum-like statements so that the MPs would focus on the priorities."
What preceded it?
As a reminder, during her earlier visit to Ukraine, Kaja Kallas said she could not report any "good news" regarding the release of €90 billion in aid for Ukraine.
