Electricity consumption restrictions have been introduced in Ukraine due to Russian attacks and bad weather, – Ukrenergo

Ukrenergo has reported power restrictions across Ukraine

On 3 April, electricity consumption restrictions are in place across all regions of Ukraine due to the impact of Russian attacks and the difficult situation in the power grid.

According to Censor.NET, this has been reported by Ukrenergo.

According to the company, power restriction schedules for industry are in effect from 06:00 to 22:00, and hourly power cuts are being applied to all categories of consumers from 07:00 to 11:00.

Consequences of the attacks

Ukrenergo reports that Russian forces are continuing to strike at energy infrastructure. As a result of drone and artillery attacks, new power cuts have been recorded in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Emergency repair work is continuing where the security situation permits.

What about consumption

As of 09:30, electricity consumption was 7.9% lower than at the same time the previous day. The daily maximum on 2 April also fell by 1.4% compared to the previous day.

At the same time, the need for energy-saving measures remains throughout the day.

Energy suppliers are urging the public to limit the use of high-power electrical appliances during peak hours – from 18:00 to 22:00.

Consequences of bad weather

In addition, due to adverse weather conditions in the Poltava region, four settlements have been left with no or limited power supply.

Repair crews are currently carrying out restoration work.

Ukrenergo emphasises that the situation in the power grid remains fluid, so citizens are advised to follow updates from their regional power companies.
