Ukraine is counting on THAAD air defense systems deployed in Middle East, - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine needs THAAD air defence systems to protect itself against Russian aircraft.
According to Censor.NET, citing Ukrinform, the head of state made this statement to journalists.
What is known?
According to Zelenskyy, this issue has already been discussed with the United States.
"Ukraine already has experience working with representatives from the Middle East and the Gulf region in consultations and expert assessments. At the same time, we want to rely on the anti-ballistic missile systems that these countries possess but which we do not have. Specifically, we are talking about THAAD systems and others. Such systems are not available in Europe either.
It is absolutely essential that they be deployed in Ukraine. Then, for example, the threat of Russian aerial bombs would simply not exist in Ukraine. We would definitely eliminate this threat for at least 200 kilometers. Russian planes simply wouldn’t be able to fly in—and that’s it," the president noted.
The head of state said that Ukraine would also like to have an answer to this question. Kyiv will present its perspective on the matter.
"Then the American side will analyze all of this. Perhaps they will make some cuts, or perhaps not—and they will respond to us. We have agreed to do this in the near future," he concluded.
