Zelenskyy is doing everything he can to ensure that SBI remains capable only of political persecution, - Shabunin

Shabunin on the reform of the SBI: Zelenskyy doesn’t want it

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not want the State Bureau of Investigation to be an independent, effective law enforcement agency.

This was stated by Vitalii Shabunin, chairman of the board of the AntAC, in an interview with Censor.NET

"Right now, Zelenskyy and his lawmakers are doing everything they can to ensure that the SBI is only capable of political persecution—excuse me—of sh*t. Because right now, the majority of the Bureau consists of exactly that kind of people," he emphasized.

According to Shabunin, Zelenskyy does not want the SBI to be an independent, effective law enforcement agency.

"To be fair, I should point out that Poroshenko didn’t want this either. And when he was still in power, I told his people: ‘Friends, look, you’ve created a politically dependent monster that will come after you first in a completely lawless manner. You’ll be caught up with by both NABU and the SBI, and you’ll feel the difference—between the rule of law and lawlessness." Now I ask: "What’s up, friends?! How’s it going? Have you felt the difference?" They reply: "You were right!"

So, I’m asking the guys who now realize they’re paying the price for having once created a monster to pass this experience on to Zelenskyy’s people. Because if he doesn’t reform the SBI and the OPG and doesn’t clean out the corrupt nest in the SSU’s rear, he’ll be in jail six months after his term ends. Six months! After all, if the NABU and SAPO catch up with him—as you can see for yourself—it’s done in a highly procedural, legally sound manner. But his SBI and the politically dependent OPG will catch up with him in a completely lawless manner. Much like how they’re currently treating Zelenskyy’s political enemies. He doesn’t understand this yet, but it’s in his best interest to leave office with a reformed, rebooted SBI and OPG. Because if he doesn’t do this, they’ll catch up with him very quickly," explained the chairman of the AntAC board.
