State Customs Service to introduce mandatory polygraph testing for employees, Mandzii says

State Customs Service (SCS) head Orest Mandzii said the SCS will definitely introduce mandatory polygraph testing for employee checks.
He said this in an interview with Censor.NET.
What is known?
"This will be introduced on a mandatory basis. Checks of officials at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau are carried out at certain intervals and at random. In other words, lists are formed, and no one knows in advance who will be checked. We are also actively using the polygraph now, in almost all internal investigations, if the official consents to undergoing such a check.
We also plan to scale up this practice during attestation checks (if there are doubts about a person's integrity). In addition, it will be mandatory during recruitment for first-time service. And as an anti-corruption preventive measure, for all customs officials without exception," he said.
Mandzii said he had undergone polygraph testing more than once himself.
"I served in units of the department for combating organized crime. During my time at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, I underwent it three or four times, if I am not mistaken. And I underwent a polygraph about three times while serving at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine," the head of the State Customs Service added.
