Customs is ready to hand vehicle customs clearance over to "Diia", but responsibility is issue – Mandzii

The issue of customs clearance of vehicles through "Diia" has already been discussed with MPs.
Orest Mandzii, head of the State Customs Service, said this in an interview with Censor.NET.
Customs clearance through "Diia."
He noted that a working meeting had recently been held with the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, where the issue of passing a law on customs clearance of vehicles through "Diia" was discussed.
"Broadly speaking, there is an initiative that any individual importing a vehicle into Ukraine will be able to complete all customs clearance procedures using the Diia app. Given that vehicle imports have always carried excessive negativity, we are ready to give up even this customs discretion.
But on condition that we give it up together with responsibility. Clear algorithms must be set out: how customs value is determined, who will be responsible for certain budget losses or for creating conditions for excessive fiscal pressure on the other side," Mandzii explained.
According to him, the bill is probably ready.
"The question is how much this aligns with our foreign policy commitments that Ukraine has assumed as a candidate for EU membership. For Europeans, the idea of customs delegating to someone else the functions of a state body related to determining customs value and adjusting it does not quite fit into their worldview. But we are ready. If our lawmakers believe that such a radical option is currently in demand by society and is necessary, then we are ready to adapt even to such realities," the head of the State Customs Service added.
