Russia has increased its use of jet drones against Ukraine tenfold over past three months, - Ihnat

Russian forces are rapidly increasing their use of jet-powered drones to strike Ukraine. While approximately 350 such UAVs were recorded in June, their number reached about 3,500 in September.
According to Censor.NET, Yurii Ihnat, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, made this statement during a television broadcast.
"The statistics show that the Russians are ramping up the use: 350 jet-powered UAVs in June, 1,500 in July, 2,800 in August, and 3,500 in September," Ihnat said.
Thus, over the course of three months, the number of jet-powered drones deployed by Russia has increased approximately tenfold.
At the same time, according to the spokesperson, there has been a slight decrease in the intensity of their use in October. Russian forces may launch about 50 such drones per night and another 30 or so during the day.
Ihnat emphasized that jet-powered UAVs are more difficult to intercept than conventional strike drones. In terms of their characteristics, they are similar to cruise missiles, so the systems used against "shaheds" may be less effective.
To counter such drones, he said, Ukraine needs new air defense systems.
"Innovative solutions from our defense-industrial complex, our military leadership, and our political leadership—in collaboration with our partners—will help us solve this problem," Ihnat added.
