Murder of Moseichuk brothers: court keeps former brigade commander Luchanov and other suspects in custody

The court has extended the detention of suspects in the abduction and murder of brothers Roman and Maksym Moseichuk from the village of Kalynivka, Bila Tserkva district, Kyiv region, for another 60 days, until 5 December 2026.
A Censor.NET journalist reported this from the courtroom.
Hearings concerning six suspects took place on 7 October, while hearings concerning another four took place two days earlier.
All had their detention extended for another 60 days, until 5 December 2026.
Among those remaining in custody are battalion commander Oleksii Dolholenko, who shot the brothers, and former commander of the 155th Brigade Stanislav Luchanov.

Background
- On 11 July 2026, several media outlets, citing their own sources, reported that Stanislav Luchanov, commander of the 155th Separate Mechanised Brigade, was wanted after nine servicemen from the brigade were detained on suspicion of abducting two civilian men from Kyiv region.
- Hromadske’s law enforcement sources said that nine servicemen from the 155th Brigade, including a battalion commander, had been detained in the case.
- Kyiv region police did not comment when asked by the media. Luchanov did not answer journalists’ calls.
- According to information from Ukrainska Pravda’s law enforcement sources, the case concerns not only abduction but also murder. Following a personal dispute, the brigade commander ordered his subordinates to abduct two civilians in Kyiv region, who were then taken to Poltava region and killed.
- According to ZN.UA sources, investigators believe that unidentified individuals insulted Luchanov’s wife, after which the brigade commander ordered eight soldiers under his command to punish those responsible. They abducted two men, Maksym M. and Roman M., residents of Kalynivka in Bila Tserkva district, and killed them.
- Operational Command "North" confirmed media reports that Stanislav Luchanov, commander of the 155th Separate Mechanised Brigade (military unit A5001), was wanted.
- The Military Law Enforcement Service reported that the former commander of the 155th Separate Mechanised Brigade of the Ground Forces’ Operational Command "North" and all participants in the crime identified at that point had been served with notices of suspicion over the unlawful deprivation of liberty and intentional killing of two civilians in Kyiv region.
- On 13 July, it emerged that Luchanov had been detained in Kyiv and served with a notice of suspicion.
- On 14 July, the court imposed a preventive measure on Luchanov.
