28 people killed in Ukraine in Russian strikes on 7 October – Vyhivskyi

Ukrainian Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi reported that 28 people were killed in Russian strikes on Wednesday, 7 October.
Vyhivskyi wrote this on his Telegram channel, according to Censor.NET.
Five children among those killed in Pryluky
According to Vyhivskyi, people were killed in the strikes on Pryluky, Kremenchuk, Oleksandriia and Kyiv.
"Pryluky, Kremenchuk, Oleksandriia, Kyiv, today’s strikes claimed 28 lives. Among the 20 people killed in Pryluky were five children, three of whom were just one year old. Two people were killed in the evening attack on Kyiv. Behind every report of an increase in the death toll is a tragedy for dozens of families. We extend our sympathy and share this pain," the minister wrote.
Meanwhile, State Emergency Service personnel and police officers managed to save 29 people by freeing them from the rubble, evacuating them from destroyed buildings and protecting them from fire. Most of these rescues were in Pryluky.
Rubble clearance continues in Pryluky
Vyhivskyi spoke about State Emergency Service crew commander Pavlo Levchenko, who, together with his colleagues, freed a five-year-old girl and her mother from the rubble. According to the minister, the blast wave had thrown them out of the building.
"Footage of a State Emergency Service worker carrying a five-year-old girl in his arms appeared in almost every media outlet. The man in the footage is crew commander Pavlo Levchenko. Together with his colleagues, he freed the child and her mother from the rubble after the blast wave threw them out of the building. Rubble clearance has been under way for more than 14 hours — we must make sure no one remains underneath," the minister said.
- As a reminder, on 7 October, Russia carried out a missile strike on Pryluky, Chernihiv region. Twenty people are known to have been killed and 55 injured. Children are among the dead.
- Other residential buildings, a children’s and youth creativity centre, a business, and vehicles were also damaged in the city.
- According to Chernihiv Regional Military Administration head Viacheslav Chaus, the Russians struck Pryluky with six cruise missiles, provisionally identified as Kh-101s.
- Days of mourning for those killed were declared in Pryluky on 7, 8 and 9 October.
