On October 8, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the "Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat" oil refinery complex in Salavat, in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russian Federation.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to Censor.NET.

What is known

As reported, a fire broke out on the company’s premises.

For reference: "Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat" is one of the largest oil refining and petrochemical complexes in the Russian Federation. The facility has a refining capacity of up to 10 million metric tons of hydrocarbon feedstock per year and produces automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, polyethylene, and other petroleum refining and petrochemical products.

It is noted that the company is involved in supplying the Russian Armed Forces.
