A major fire has broken out in Pushkino, near Moscow.
This is reported by ASTRA, according to Censor.NET.
What is known?
A lorry park is believed to be on fire near the 33rd kilometre of the Yaroslavl Highway, where the GTS Service lorry service centre is located.
The cause of the fire is unknown, although drone and missile alerts had previously been issued in the Moscow region, as in many other regions of the Russian Federation.
Pro-Kremlin media outlets report that an "unknown substance" exploded in a waste tank whilst firefighters were tackling a blaze in Pushkino, near Moscow.
"It is claimed that the fire broke out at around 9.15 pm. Local residents heard a loud rumble and saw the glow of the fire ‘coming from the direction of the local rubbish tip’. At first, they thought a power cable had been damaged – bright sparks were flying in all directions from the scene."
Unidentified blocks were lying in a rubbish bin; when emergency services personnel attempted to extinguish the fire, these triggered a chemical reaction and began to explode. The fire, the plume of smoke and the sparks were visible several kilometres from the scene. According to experts, it could have been magnesium," the report states.
At the same time, the video captured an explosion resembling a secondary detonation.
