Mandatory evacuation zone for children has been extended in Kramatorsk, - RMA

Evacuation of children in Kramatorsk

The area subject to the compulsory evacuation of children from certain parts of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region has been extended.

This was announced by the head of the Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, as reported by Censor.NET.

Details

It is noted that the evacuation will be carried out in the presence of parents, guardians or legal representatives. Local military administrations, the police, rescue services and child welfare services are involved in the operation.

People will be accompanied at every stage – from departure to the reception centre and subsequent relocation to safer regions.

It is emphasised that all decisions are being made with a single aim – to prevent further child casualties.

Evacuation saves lives

"The security situation is deteriorating, and waiting until the danger reaches your home is far too great a risk. Especially when it comes to children. I urge parents not to delay. Evacuation saves lives!" emphasised Filashkin.

What led up to this

  • As a reminder, on 5 August, the Donetsk Regional Military Administration decided to extend the mandatory evacuation of children and their parents from the most dangerous areas of Kramatorsk, as well as from the villages of Krasnotorka and Bilenke.
  • In total, this involves 525 children from 424 families: 326 children from 274 families in Kramatorsk, 140 children from 104 families in Bilenke and 59 children from 46 families in Krasnotorka.
