"Samara" LPDS: what is known?

The "Samara" LPDS is a large-scale main oil pipeline transport complex. It forms part of the Transneft PJSC system and is operated by Transneft – Privolga JSC.

The production site comprises the "Samara-1" and "Samara-2" oil pumping stations, an oil blending station, a tank farm and the auxiliary infrastructure of the Samara Regional Oil Pipeline Administration.

The site is one of the largest hubs in the Russian main oil pipeline system. The station handles the receipt, storage, pumping and blending of crude oil with various physical and chemical characteristics. Crude oil is supplied via main oil pipelines from:

  • Tatarstan;
  • Western Siberia;
  • other oil-producing regions of Russia.
  • After blending, the resulting streams are directed, in particular, towards Novorossiysk, to the ‘Druzhba’ pipeline system, as well as to oil refineries in Novokuybyshevsk, Saratov and Volgograd.

The company is also involved in meeting the needs of the Russian Federation’s armed forces.
