Repairs to energy infrastructure must be accelerated: Zelenskyy issues instructions to government and law enforcement
President Zelenskyy held a meeting on addressing the aftermath of Russian strikes and restoring power.
The head of state announced this on Telegram, Censor.NET reports.
Details
According to him, attacks take place virtually every day, while work to restore energy infrastructure continues around the clock.
"Unfortunately, repeated strikes and constant air raid alerts mean repairs are taking significantly longer. But stocks of the necessary equipment have been built up, and restoration must follow every strike. We are working with our partners to replenish our reserves promptly. Agreements have already been reached on new energy support packages," Zelenskyy said.
Kyiv faces the most difficult situation
The head of state noted that the situation in Kyiv is currently particularly difficult, with residents and businesses facing power and water outages lasting many hours.
"The situation is difficult in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kharkiv, Cherkasy and Vinnytsia regions, as well as in the Donetsk region, where hostilities pose extraordinary challenges. Rolling and emergency power cuts are in place in the southern regions.
But however difficult things may be, state agencies, regional and local authorities, and EVERY company supplying people with electricity, heating and water must work as swiftly and comprehensively as possible across the country, regardless of who owns these companies," the president explained.
Zelenskyy instructed the Cabinet of Ministers and law enforcement agencies to present, by the end of the day, a list of measures to ensure full cooperation with companies currently lagging behind in repairs and restoration.
"There was also a separate report from the Armed Forces of Ukraine command on the organisation of electronic warfare operations. We identified the necessary steps. Thank you to everyone who is truly working for the people and acting swiftly!" he concluded.
