A pre-trial investigation has been completed into a woman from the Zakarpattia region who organised a route for illegally transporting people of conscription age across the state border.

The woman attempted to carry out the scheme in the Dnipropetrovsk region. According to the case materials, she offered a local man of conscription age "guaranteed" assistance in leaving Ukraine outside designated crossing points along the border with Hungary.
The woman travelled to Pavlohrad to meet the "client" in person and brief him. There, she gave the man liable for military service detailed instructions: first, he was to travel independently to Zakarpattia and stay at a hotel booked for him in advance. The group then planned to enlist a so-called "guide" to lead the draft evader across the border on foot away from official crossing points.
The organiser charged $10,000 for her "services" in facilitating an illegal border crossing.
State Border Guard Service operatives and police investigators have now gathered conclusive evidence of the illegal activities.
The indictment has been submitted to court. The woman faces seven to nine years in prison, a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years, and confiscation of property.
